CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - A state Superior Court judge has been sworn in as Camden County’s new prosecutor.

Mary Eva Colalillo is the first woman to hold the post. She took the oath of office Monday during a private ceremony.

This marks Colalillo’s second stint in the prosecutor’s office. She was an assistant prosecutor from 1980-84.

Before being nominated for the prosecutor’s job by Gov. Chris Christie, Colalillo was a judge in the county for 21 years, most recently serving as presiding judge of general equity.

Colalillo succeeds Warren Faulk, who held the job for six years.
