SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Unified Police are investigating a shooting in Taylorsville after the victim went to a Wal-Mart to purchase first-aid supplies.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal says a man who had been shot in the upper body was shopping for supplies with friends at Wal-Mart at 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

An employee noticed the wounded man and called police.

Hoyal says the victim was walking down a street after a party when a group of men drove up in a white car and started a conversation. One of the men in the car then shot the man on the street.

Hoyal says the man, whose identity was not released, has been hospitalized in fair condition.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/TwrCNO ) investigators are still working to find the crime scene and the suspects.
