IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) - A search continued Monday for an Idaho Falls man who went missing after a rafting accident on the South Fork of the Snake River near Rigby.

The Jefferson County sheriff’s office says 21-year-old Mason Empey and 20-year-old Torrey Reinhart were rafting on Sunday when an oar fell into the water about a mile upstream from the Lorenzo bridge.

Empey fell into the water when he tried to retrieve the oar and was unable to get back into the raft. He was not wearing a life jacket.

Reinhart called for help at about 3:20 p.m.

Jefferson County Search and Rescue and Air Idaho Rescue along with others searched for Empey on Sunday and resumed that search Monday.

Sheriff Blair Olsen says Empey was last seen wearing jean shorts and a salmon-colored shirt.
