CLAREMORE, Okla. (AP) - Rogers State has hired Chris Klimas as its new head baseball coach.

Rogers State University director of Athletics Ryan Erwin made the announcement Monday.

Klimas has been a member of the Oklahoma Baptist University coaching staff since 2001. Klimas replaced Ron Bradley, who started the program in 2005.

Erwin says Klimas is a great recruiter who is familiar with baseball in the region.

Klimas has been the associate head baseball coach at OBU since 2010. Prior to that he spent nine years as the assistant coach.

A native of Broken Arrow, Klimas was a two-year starter at catcher at OBU from 1999-2001.
