TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson man has been arrested for allegedly performing liposuction illegally out of his home.

Pima County Sheriff’s officials announced Monday that 51-year-old Gustavo Nunez has been booked into jail on suspicion of two counts of practicing medicine without a license.

Sheriff’s deputies investigated a report of suspicious activity Saturday evening at a home near the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort.

They say Nunez was performing the fat-removal procedure on multiple victims at his house.

It’s unclear if Nunez has a lawyer yet.

The Arizona Daily Star reports that Nunez was previously arrested last August on felony charges, including possession of dangerous drugs and practicing medicine without a license.

A three-month investigation by federal authorities reportedly uncovered evidence that Nunez performed illegal medical procedures at his clinic known as NuTec.
