ATLANTA (AP) - U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officials say more than 1,000 people are set to become American citizens during a ceremony this week at Turner Field.

Officials say USCIS Regional Director Kathy Redman will administer the Oath of Allegiance to new citizens during the special ceremony Wednesday morning.

Organizers say special guests are expected to include Atlanta Braves President John Schuerholz and others.

Officials say candidates from 81 countries are expected to become citizens during the ceremony.
