FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Police say they believe three people found dead of gunshot wounds in a Fort Worth home had been shot days before the bodies were found.

Authorities say the bodies of the two men and one woman were discovered Monday by officers responding to a welfare call. The officers reported a strong odor coming from the home.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office says 50-year-old David Adams and 47-year-old Elizabeth Sessums died of gunshot wounds to the head and 57-year-old Ronney Jackson suffered a wound to the chest.

Fort Worth police Sgt. Raymond Bush on Wednesday said investigators are working the case as a triple homicide.

He says the three were shot “at least a few days” before their bodies were found.

No other information was immediately available Wednesday.
