ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (AP) - The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested one of its own, booking a corrections officer on multiple counts of wrongdoing at the jail.

The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1ouusgu ) reports 22-year-old Marshall Babineaux Jr. was booked Tuesday on one count each of malfeasance in office and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and two counts of introduction of contraband in a penal institution.

Bail information was not immediately available. It was not known if Babineaux has an attorney.

Babineaux, of Breaux Bridge, had been a corrections officer since August.
