WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - A Waterloo man accused of pulling out a handgun during a road rage incident has been sent to federal prison.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier says (https://bit.ly/1pEWRUH ) Jeramia Cook was sentenced last month to six years and six months. He was indicted Nov. 19 on a single count of possession of a firearm and ammunition as a felon.

Police say Cook became angry with the driver of a semitrailer on Sept. 3. Cook is accused of denting the semitrailer with a bottle and then pulling out a handgun and threatening the truck driver.

Cook is barred from handling weapons because of a 1999 burglary conviction.
