DOVER, Del. (AP) - A state panel is recommending four candidates to Gov. Jack Markell to fill a vacancy on the Delaware Supreme Court.

The News Journal (https://delonline.us/1p98yAH ) reports seven lawyers applied for the seat being vacated by Supreme Court Justice Jack Jacobs. The Judicial Nominating Commission narrowed the list down to four candidates.

Jacobs will vacate the seat on July 4.

The governor is expected to announce his choice for the court soon before the state Senate session ends.
