EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A registered sex offender who assaulted a developmentally disabled woman in a unisex restroom at a Springfield mall in March was sentenced Wednesday in Eugene to four years in prison.

The Register-Guard reports (https://bit.ly/1pI2aTh) 27-year-old Brexin Reed Schulz had been charged with crimes that could have brought an eight-year sentence.

In a deal with Lane County prosecutors, Schulz pleaded guilty to reduced charges of second-degree sexual abuse and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

In 2003 he pleaded guilty to attempted rape.
