SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Fire department officials in Savannah say seven people have been displaced from a duplex after a fire.

Officials said in a statement that a fire early Thursday morning appears to have started in the back of the property and spread quickly through the duplex and its attic. Officials say the home sustained heavy smoke and water damage.

No injuries have been reported and fire investigators are probing the cause of the blaze.

Authorities say the home’s residents are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
