TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Tuscaloosa police say a man suspected of using rat poison as an ingredient in synthetic marijuana has been arrested following a two month investigation.

Authorities said Thursday that 27-year-old Darius Jarab Wilson is charged with trafficking illegal drugs and false reporting to law enforcement.

Police say the man was arrested earlier this week after authorities found multiple items - including rat poison - that was being used to make the synthetic drug. Police say they believe Wilson was mixing rat poison with plant material to produce the drugs, and 160 packets of synthetic marijuana were recovered.

Police say Wilson, of Northport, is being held in the Tuscaloosa County jail on more than $1 million bond. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
