NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a suspect wanted in connection with a series of New York City bank robberies has been arrested.

The FBI says 48-year-old Patrick Considine was taken into custody around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the Wall Street Journal (https://on.wsj.com/1rNOb09 ), he faces charges of one count of bank robbery in connection with a May 27 robbery at a HSBC Bank branch in Manhattan.

The agency says he’s also a suspect in the two other robberies, both in Queens.

The FBI says the alleged thief was armed in at least one of the three holdups.

He’s been dubbed the “Gatsby Bandit” because he wore a tan Gatsby-type hat. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
