BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - A Boston man charged with killing his estranged wife in her Brockton home has been ordered held without bail.

Jean-Michel Beaulieu (bow-lee-YOO’) pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges at his arraignment Wednesday in connection with the May 16 death of Florence Beaulieu.

The victim, a 37-year-old mother of four, was found beaten to death in her apartment by her teenage daughter.

Florence Beaulieu had removed a restraining order against him two days prior to her death and was pushing for divorce.

The 42-year-old Jean-Michel Beaulieu went to Canada after the slaying and was apprehended as he re-entered Vermont.

He has said an intruder in the victim’s home was responsible for the death.
