LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - The Calcasieu Parish School Board has narrowed down the nine candidates vying for the superintendent position four finalists.

The board announced the finalists at a special called meeting Wednesday.

The American Press reports (https://bit.ly/1eOXZNb ) the finalists are Marcus D. Jackson of Atlanta, Charles S. Michel of Metairie, and Ina F. Delahoussaye and Karl Bruchhaus, both of Lake Charles.

Background checks on the four finalists will be disclosed in an executive session at the board’s next regular meeting on June 10. Final interviews are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. June 14.
