BENTON, La. (AP) - The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for the owner of a horse that was found along Highway 162 in Benton earlier this week.

The horse is brown with a white face and was found Monday with a green halter.

The sheriff’s office says the owner may claim the animal after proper identification of the horse and payment for costs of care and custody is remitted to the sheriff’s office. The owner has until June 14 to claim the horse before it will be sold at public auction.

Anyone with information concerning the horse’s ownership should contact the sheriff’s office at 318-965-2203.
