WEST HAVEN, Utah (AP) - Investigators with the Weber County Attorney’s Office are conducting a standard review after police fatally shot a man during a standoff in the Ogden area.

The Weber County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and Ogden police officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant on 35-year-old Kristopher Chase Simmons at an auto body shop Wednesday in the city of West Haven.

The sheriff’s office says in a statement that Simmons was armed and refused to leave the shop.

SWAT team members negotiated with Simmons for almost four hours but those talks broke down and gunfire was exchanged.

Simmons was shot and taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. No one else was injured.

Police had sought Simmons on outstanding arrest warrants for drug possession and evading police.
