WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - An Iowa oversight board has fined Waterloo’s mayor for using his city email for political purposes.

Waterloo television station KWWL says (https://bit.ly/1mdWw4X ) the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board ruled Wednesday that Mayor Buck Clark violated campaign ethics rules.

Former Waterloo school board member Bill Kammeyer filed the ethics complaint against Clark in March, after obtaining about 800 pages of city of Waterloo emails. The board found that some of the mayor’s emails mentioned political activities, such as campaign phone calls, commercials, union support and yard signs.

Clark said Wednesday that he would pay the $100 fine “and get on with much more important city business and be glad that this situation is over.”
