NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police say a 25-year-old man has been arrested in a shooting that killed two women and wounded a man.

In a news release, police said members of the U.S. Marshall’s task force arrested Cody Williams around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

He was booked into Orleans Parish Prison on two counts of first-degree murder and a count of attempted first-degree murder.

Police say Williams opened fire near a street corner on March 13.

Forty-nine-year-old Sandy George and 19-year-old Renalda Variste both died at a nearby hospital.

An 18-year-old man was shot in the foot.

Police have not released a motive in the attack.

It was unclear whether Williams has an attorney.
