ABINGTON, Pa. (AP) - A lockdown at a Penn State campus in suburban Philadelphia has been lifted after a weapon scare.

Abington Township police Chief William Kelly says the weapon turned out to be a pellet or BB gun and there was never any danger.

Kelly says a man had apparently been showing the gun to a friend Thursday and had already gone home when the lockdown at Penn State Abington was announced.

The chief says the man contacted police when he heard the news and is now in custody with the friend.

The school is currently in summer session.
