PHOENIX (AP) - Police have shut down a Phoenix business that didn’t have a marijuana dispensary license.
Investigators served a search warrant at the Green Thumb Academy on Thursday morning and police say they found about 6 ½ pounds of high-grade marijuana.
The police department’s Drug Enforcement Bureau received complaints from authorized medical-marijuana dispensaries that the Green Thumb Academy was illegally posing as an authorized dispensary.
That began an investigation.
Police say the building showed all the signs of being a legitimate medical marijuana dispensary.
It even had a sign on the front door that informed customers of the illegality of obtaining marijuana for anyone other than themselves.
