ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - Anderson County deputies say an 87-year-old man intentionally rammed his truck into a restaurant and then drove away.

Investigators said Norris Perego got in an argument with his landlord who was trying to evict him from a campground in Anderson on Thursday.

Authorities say Perego rammed his Ford F-150 pickup into the restaurant at the campground, starting a fire. Deputies say he also tried to set a second fire before driving away.

Deputies arrested Perego several hours later. He faces four charges of attempted murder for the four people inside the restaurant. It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.

Authorities say Perego pleaded guilty in April 2013 to trying to hire someone to kidnap and beat a business partner. He was sentenced to five years of probation.
