COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A man walking down a railroad track in Colorado Springs, Colorado, wearing headphones ignored bystander warnings and a blaring horn before he was struck by a train.

KKTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1pc0jUj ) the man was in the hospital Thursday with unknown injuries. Police identified the man as 33-year-old Quamaine Jenkins.

A witness told police that the northbound train sounded its horn Jenkins seemed like he couldn’t hear it. The witness said people started yelling but it was too late.

Police deemed the incident accidental but investigators are trying to figure out why Jenkins was at the tracks.

Police spokesman Larry Herbert described Jenkins’ injuries as serious.
