WATERVILLE, Maine (AP) - Police say a Maine man who used to do household chores for a 92-year-old man has been charged in his death.

State and Waterville police arrested 44-year-old Roland Cummings on Friday and took him to the Kennebec County Jail, where he’s being held on a murder charge.

Investigators say Cummings stabbed Aurele Fecteau (AHR’-ee-ahl FEHK’-toh) to death and burglarized his Waterville home. Fecteau’s body was found two weeks ago by a relative.

Maine Public Safety Department spokesman Steve McCausland said state police, Waterville police, Skowhegan police and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency assisted in the investigation.

Cummings, who’s unemployed and was living with his mother in Waterville, is due in court on Monday or Tuesday. Jail documents didn’t indicate whether he’s hired a lawyer.
