KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The investigation into the cause of a house explosion in Kansas City that injured six people was delayed because the structure was too unsafe for investigators to enter the scene.

The home exploded Wednesday night in south Kansas City. The Kansas City Star reports (https://bit.ly/SfgG6x ) two adults are hospitalized in critical condition. Two women and two children were treated for their injuries.

A spokesman for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives say heavy equipment was needed to take down part of the roof before investigators can enter the site.

The cause of the blast has not been determined. Missouri Gas Energy officials say the utility has determined the explosion was not caused by natural gas.
