FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Fort Lauderdale firefighters and paramedics have rescued two kittens that got entangled in the chassis of a car.

Firefighters responded Thursday to a call for rescue in front of Las Colinas Restaurant. When they arrived, they could hear the sounds of one of the cats coming from the engine area. They found the other one trapped in the undercarriage.

Both felines were returned unharmed to their owner.

It is not uncommon for animals to get trapped within vehicles. Fire rescue recommends drivers to tap the hood of their cars before starting the motor so that any animal inside has a chance to escape.
