CHICAGO (AP) - Although Hillary Clinton hasn’t declared she’s running for president, a low-cost fundraiser was held in Chicago by those counting on the former first lady to seek the office.

Congresswoman Jan Schawkowsky told more than 600 people at a bar called John Barleycorn that “when Hillary succeeds, America succeeds.”

Those attending the fundraiser paid a symbolic $20.16 each. The political action committee “Ready for Hillary” put on the event.

Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin said he is anxious to support a Clinton run for the presidency. He supported then-candidate Barack Obama when he ran against Clinton in 2008.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel wasn’t at John Barleycorn. He attended another Clinton fundraiser Thursday evening. Those at that event paid $1,000 a head.
