HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Receiving a traffic citation in the city of Hattiesburg has become a little less painful.
Rather than having to stand in line at the police department to pay the ticket, The Hattiesburg American reports (https://hatne.ws/SeT4yT) offenders can take care of the matter with a few clicks of a computer mouse or even a smartphone.
The city has adopted PayMyFineOnline.com, an online payment program for traffic fines.
Lt. Jon Traxler says PayMyFineOnline.com allows citizens to pay fines with a credit or debit card by logging on to the website and entering the citation number, or using a link found on the city’s Municipal Court website.
Citizens also can use a new kiosk in the police department’s lobby to pay a fine on a ticket received after May 2013.
