LAS VEGAS (AP) - Southern Nevada should brace for a heat wave that’s expected to begin over the weekend.

The National Weather Service is calling for temperatures from 107 to 111 degrees in Las Vegas on Sunday and Monday. Highs in the Colorado River Valley are expected to range from 108 to 114 degrees.

The agency has called for an excessive heat watch, which means the temperatures will be high for a prolonged period of time, and people could be at risk for heat-related illnesses.
