RUSTON, La. (AP) - Louisiana Tech Athletic Director Tommy McClelland has named Greg Goff as the Bulldogs’ new baseball coach.

Goff, whose hiring was announced Friday, comes to Ruston after a seven-year stint as the head coach at Campbell University in North Carolina.

Campbell is coming off of three straight 40-win seasons and won its first NCAA regional game over Old Dominion last weekend.

McClelland says Goff, whose overall record at Campbell is 224-174, is “a proven winner” who separated himself as the top candidate for the job.

Goff replaces Wade Simoneaux, who went 297-370-1 during 12 seasons at Louisiana Tech.

Goff says he’s eager to establish a recruiting base in Louisiana and surrounding states, where he says there’s a wealth of talent.
