WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (AP) - A mayor who is free on bail after being arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust attended a City Council meeting and said he has no intentions of stepping down.

Woodland Park Mayor David Turley’s attendance at Thursday’s meeting was his first public appearance since his arrest May 23. KKTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1pNNwtC ) that after the meeting, Turley declined to discuss the case and told the station he’s working through the legal process.

The allegations were not discussed during the public meeting.

Police last month searched Turley’s home, a vehicle, and took some items as evidence. Police have released few details other than they believe there is one victim.
