PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Police say 2014 has seen a spike in gang-related violence in Portland.

The Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/Tmyw8H) police plan to step up patrols this weekend, noting that there was a spate of gang shootings exactly a year ago.

So far this year, police said, they have responded to 52 gang-related violent crimes, up from 35 through the same period of 2013.
