SOLVAY, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve charged a 36-year-old central New York woman with assault and attempted murder a month after her husband was shot and stabbed multiple times by another man.

Local media report that police in the village of Solvay, near Syracuse, arrested Virginia LaPoint on Thursday.

Police say her husband, 42-year-old Michael LaPoint, was shot with a handgun and repeatedly stabbed by John Conway during an attack outside LaPoint’s home early on May 4. The 40-year-old Conway has been charged with attempted murder and assault.

Police haven’t said what role LaPoint’s wife played in the attack. She’s being held in the Onondaga County Jail on $500,000 bail. It couldn’t be determined if she has a lawyer.
