COVINGTON, La. (AP) - FBI agents have visited the office of St. Tammany Parish District Attorney Walter Reed twice in the last two weeks.

The New Orleans Advocate reports ( https://bit.ly/1uz84WR ) that courthouse logs show FBI agents entered the courthouse Friday and on May 28.

FBI spokeswoman Mary Beth Romig won’t say what agents were doing, but says she wouldn’t describe the Friday visit as a raid.

Federal authorities have subpoenaed records for Reed’s fundraisers at a public conference center. Steven Reed, the district attorney’s son, was paid $29,400 for services provided to a 2011 fundraiser.

Reed quit a job last month doing private legal work for St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Leaders of the hospital have said they thought they were paying $30,000 a year to the district attorney’s office, not to Reed personally.
