LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Two faculty members with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications have been awarded Fulbright Specialist grants.

The awards go to journalism professor Gary Kebbel and assistant advertising and public relations professor Sriyani Tidball. Each will receive $200 a day over several weeks, as well as travel costs.

Kebbel will be working with the U.S. Mission to the African Union, a cooperative of 54 African nations, to create a crisis communication plan that includes the use of social media.

Tidball will serve as a communication specialist with the Centre for Women’s Research in Sri Lanka. He will help formulate a strategy for female Sri Lankan migrant workers, especially domestic workers, to stay in touch with their families and deal with possible abuse.
