LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Center for People in Need in Lincoln will be opening its doors to hundreds of families and their children for an early Father’s Day event.

The event will be held Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon at the center’s warehouse on 27th Street in Lincoln. It is open to low-income children ages 2-18, who will be given a chance to choose a small gift and make a card to give to their dads the following week on Father’s Day.

More than 40 volunteers will be present to help guide children through the event, choose and wrap gifts and prepare Father’s Day cards.
