LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A federal jury in Little Rock has convicted a Marianna man who was arrested as part of a large drug investigation in eastern Arkansas known as “Operation Delta Blues.”

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1kU838c ) the jury deliberated less than an hour Friday before convicting 38-year-old Demetrius Colbert on six felony charges - including cocaine distribution and shooting an FBI agent.

Colbert did not testify. Defense attorney Mark Hampton questioned the credibility of witnesses who implicated Colbert in the drug ring and said Colbert acted in self-defense when he shot and wounded the FBI agent as agents used a battering ram to enter his home arrest him.

Prosecutors say Colbert was a kingpin in the operation that resulted in dozens of arrests - including that of five law enforcement officers.
