HOOPER, Neb. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man killed in a crash in eastern Nebraska that is being blamed, in part, on heavy fog.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says 35-year-old Skeeter Garule, of Hooper, died in the early morning Friday crash.

Investigators say Garule’s car was trying to cross Highway 275 just south of Hooper when it was hit by a westbound semitrailer.

Garule was pronounced dead at the scene. The 49-year-old truck driver from Omaha was not injured..

All lanes of traffic on the highway were rerouted for more than three hours after the crash.
