GRIFFIN, Ga. (AP) - Dozens of law enforcement officers honored a Griffin police officer who was fatally shot while working an extra job as a security officer by attending his son’s graduation ceremony.

Authorities have said Officer Kevin Jordan was working an overnight shift at a Waffle House restaurant and was fatally shot during a fight with three people who were asked to leave the business. Investigators have said Jordan’s brother was visiting and shot the man accused of shooting the officer.

Jordan’s son, Hezekiah (Hez-eh-KIGH-a), told WSB-TV wants to work in law enforcement like his father and the officers who supported him at Saturday’s graduation ceremony (https://bit.ly/1j9TXQo). Jordan, 43, left behind seven children.

The officer’s funeral is scheduled for Monday afternoon at Oak Hill Baptist Church.
