NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - Von Drehle Corp. is moving toward making paper at its Natchez location.

The company, based in Hickory, North Carolina, announced Friday that it has bought a paper machine to install at the pulp recycling mill it bought in 2013.

The Natchez Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/1tUqAqz) that the company, which has pledged to invest $80 million, plans for paper manufacturing to be fully operational by late 2015.

The company makes commercial and industrial tissue and towels

The Adams County Board of Supervisors approved last month a request to provide $50,000 worth of dirt to match a $500,000 Mississippi Development Authority grant to construct an access road for the industrial property.

Von Drehle, which also has operations in Nevada and Tennessee, has pledged to hire more than 100 people at full capacity.
