DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - Police in Dothan say an officer was just doing his job when he rescued a man from a burning house.

Sgt. Ray Mock tells the Dothan Eagle (https://bit.ly/1pr5csH ) officer Jason Arnette was responding to a call about breaking glass at a home in a subdivision Saturday night and found a man who was trying to escape the fire through a window.

Mock says the officer grabbed the man’s arm and helped him through the window. He says a neighbor also helped rescue the man. Mock says the home’s occupant suffered some cuts to his forearms.

Dothan Fire Department Battalion Chief Thomas Grooms says the home’s occupant was treated by paramedics in the backyard and the blaze was contained in about 40 minutes.
