COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting at a subdivision in Teller County.

Sheriff’s Lt. Marc Porcelli says the shooter called police to the Sherwood Forest subdivision at about 4 a.m. Saturday. Investigators say the victim was shot in the head by the home’s resident, who was surprised by his presence.

Porcelli says it appears the shooter and the victim knew each other, but officers are still investigating their relationship.

The Colorado Springs Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1kI51Zu ) the shooter has been detained, but no charges have been filed. Porcelli declined to release the names of anyone involved.

The victim was in his mid-20s.
