NORTHFIELD, Vt. (AP) - Vermont’s Norwich University is seeking people to share their remembrances for an oral history project that is focusing on the training of the citizen soldier.

The Norwich Voices Oral History Project at the Sullivan Museum and History Center is a three-year project to collect and preserve the stories of the Norwich community.

The theme focuses on the training of the citizen-soldier, and particular attention will be paid to stories of service and leadership.

Project Coordinator Jennifer Payne says the goal is to preserve history in the voice of those who lived it.

She says the most valuable contribution a person can leave for the future is their story.

The project runs through 2017.
