OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities in western Michigan have released the name of a 53-year-old Grand Rapids man who drowned after the row boat he was fishing in with his wife capsized.

The Grand Rapids Press (https://bit.ly/1oLaBK4 ) reports that the Kent County sheriff’s department identifies him as Charles Cooley. The accident happened about 11 a.m. Saturday in Chain Lakes in Oakfield Township, northeast of Grand Rapids.

The department says the couple were fishing when Cooley shifted positions, causing the small aluminum boat to capsize.

A sheriff’s statement says the woman grabbed a floatation device, swam to shore and found someone to call for help.
