GHENT, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a 26-year-old Minnesota woman has died after she was pulled over by sheriff’s deputies and then sped away, crashing her SUV.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened around 11:45 p.m. Saturday on Route 9 in the town of Ghent. A deputy polled over an SUV that was driving in the wrong lane. As the deputy walked toward her SUV, the sheriff’s office says Kasandra Solverson sped away.

The SUV collided with a pickup truck. Solverson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three people in the truck were taken to Albany Medical Center. The extent of their injuries wasn’t clear.
