COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Hundreds of members of the U.S. Army Special Forces Association are holding their 50th annual convention in South Carolina.

Organizer retired Sgt. Maj. Michael Mika says the group’s weeklong meeting in downtown Columbia begins Monday.

The conference includes a golf tournament, trips to Charleston and Camden military sites, museum tours, shooting matches, a patriotic concert and an awards banquet.

U.S. Army Special Forces are highly trained units who have been called on to work alongside military forces from other nations, as well as to conduct specialized military operations.
