LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas judge is due to hear bail arguments for a 23-year-old Mexican woman accused of driving drunk in a sport utility vehicle that hit two people on a Las Vegas sidewalk and crashed into a light pole early Easter morning.

Concepcion Castaneda’s lawyer, William Terry, is seeking her release Monday without bail pending trial in the 1:30 a.m. April 20 crash that left two pedestrians, ages 17 and 36, hospitalized with serious injuries.

Prosecutors say they fear Castaneda will flee the U.S. to avoid trial June 24.

She’s being held on $50,000 bail on driving under the influence and failure to stop charges that could get her 55 years in state prison.

She’s accused of walking away from the crash on Decatur Boulevard before returning to the scene.
