PITTSBURGH (AP) - Two Duquesne University basketball players have been charged by Pittsburgh police following an argument during which one of them allegedly punched a man in the mouth.

That player, 20-year-old Jeremiah Jones, is charged with simple assault, escape and public drunkenness. The other player, 20-year-old Micah Mason, was charged only with altering his driver’s license to make it appear he is 23.

Police arrested the players about 1 a.m. Saturday after an officer saw Jones punch a man. Police charged Jones with escape because he allegedly ran away when police initially stopped him. Mason was charged after police say he acknowledged changing the birth year on his license using nail polish remover.

The school says it is gathering information about the incident, which will be handled through the school’s judicial affairs process.
