BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) - Artisans will be practicing their traditional crafts this weekend during Homestead Days at the Homestead National Monument of America.

The artisans will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday through Sunday. Most of the demonstrations will occur at the Education Center, but activities will be offered throughout the park.

Demonstrations will include the making of wooden buckets and butter churns, mechanized spinning, wood carving, blacksmithing and rope making. There also will be chances to learn quilting, knitting, tatting, sewing and wool spinning.

The Homestead National Monument of America sits four miles west of Beatrice, along Nebraska Highway 4.
